My dad, Richard, passed away December 2020 after a long journey with Alzheimer's. It is difficult to watch this disease progress in a loved one. As my infant son grew and developed new skills, my dad regressed. I was grateful for the time I had with him and the time to say a long good-bye.
This second addition Alzheimer's Awareness leotard is called "Remember Well" to remind us to capture and record memories with our loved ones while we can. One of the stages my dad went through was sorting through lots of past memories of growing up and his early 20's. While he was frequently sharing these stories (over and over!), I took out my camera and recorded them. I also wrote some of them down as well as different funny things he said when we were together.
Along with each leotard, you will receive a group of questions to ask your loved one about their life and things they've learned along the way. If it's no longer possible for your loved one to answer the questions, then you recording stories and what you remember will be a wonderful gift to future generations. Create a "Remember Well" book to preserve memories of the past for the future.
